The officers and helpers of SYG are qualified to run and supervise Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions and do so roughly twice a year.

In June 2009 we ran a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition in the Suffolk area, finishing at Southwold beach.

In April 2007 we ran a Duke of Edinburgh's Award test Expedition at Bronze Level and training in Thetford Forest.

In September 2006 we ran a Duke of Edinburgh's Award trial Expedition at Bronze Level in the Pelhams.

In April 2006 we ran a very successful Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition in the Peak District,
and Bronze training weekend in Thetford Forest.

In April 2004 we ran 3 very successful Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition Tests.

• October 2002 DEA Expeditions

Between the 18th and 21st October 2002, a Bronze and Silver Group spent the weekend on the Oxford Ridgeway doing their test expeditions. Click HERE for more information.

• Equipment

At the end of March 2002, SYG, through several generous donations from charities and local companies, was able to obtain a large amount of brand new DEA equipment. Click HERE for more information about it.
